Study Abroad in Jordan and based at the Jerusalem Center
Students spend three months in Amman and two+ weeks based at the BYU Jerusalem Center. Both locations are life-changing. Jordan is a small but important country that exemplifies many of the problems, as well as the promise, of all countries in the region. Experiencing it is a good way to begin to understand the region and many challenges of the developing world in general. Israel/Palestine is another world. Over the course of the semester, you are exposed to a multifaceted Islam and Judaism in a variety of settings and manifestations, and to political and religious discourse that is fascinating and unfamiliar. Most importantly, you will have many opportunities to meet and get to know people who see the world in very different ways and come to understand their concerns, views, and ways of living.
